 In the last few years, Local 6 has been on the forefront of some great, high-profile organizing campaigns, from Anchor Brewing, to Tartine Bakery.

Local 6 represents over 1400 members in a diverse array of industries, like warehousing, waste management, food production and hospital workers.

The story of Local 6 is the story of the ILWU. Local 6 was built by the solidarity of the warehouse and port workers, who believed that an injury to one is an injury to all.

The most important word in the language of the working class is “solidarity.”
